Where your platform has fixed egress addresses, authenticating by IP removes a credential from circulation and makes an intercepted password useless on its own.

Use it alongside credentials, not instead of them

We recommend both: an allow-list bounds where traffic can originate, and credentials bound who is originating it. Address changes go through the NOC and are usually applied the same day.
