What you get
What renting a switch removes from your plate
Buying a switch is the easy part. Sizing it, securing it, keeping it patched and stopping it becoming a fraud target is the part that consumes a small operator.
Provisioned by people who run switches
Instance sizing, kernel tuning and SIP hardening done by engineers who do it every week, not from a forum thread.
Secured against the obvious attacks
SIP scanning and registration brute-forcing start within hours of a switch appearing on the internet. Firewalling and rate limiting are part of the build, not a follow-up task.
Fraud alerting from day one
Unusual destination patterns and sudden concurrency spikes raise an alert. Toll fraud on an unmonitored switch is measured in hours and thousands.
Rating and billing already configured
Rate plans, customer balances and CDR export set up so you can invoice from the first month.
Scale without procurement
Add or remove channels as your traffic changes, with no hardware to buy and no licence to resell on.
Support that understands the platform
When routing behaves oddly you talk to someone who knows VOS3000, not a generic hosting queue.
What actually goes wrong with a self-hosted switch
The install is not the hard part. What catches small operators out is everything after it.
- SIP scanning starts immediately. An unprotected switch will see registration brute-force attempts within hours of going live.
- Toll fraud is fast and expensive. A compromised account dialling premium-rate destinations overnight can produce a bill larger than a year of hosting before anyone notices.
- Rating errors compound silently. A wrong rate plan does not throw an error. It just quietly under-bills until someone reconciles the month.
- Nobody owns patching. On a rented switch, we do.
What the rental covers
Instance provisioning and sizing, SIP hardening and firewalling, VOS3000 installation and configuration, routing tables and rate plans built with you, scheduled backups of configuration and CDRs, fraud and concurrency alerting, and NOC monitoring. You get operator-level administration and we keep the platform standing.
Your data stays yours
Configuration and call records are exported on request, at any point, including when you leave. A rental that holds your CDRs hostage is not a service, and we would rather not compete on that basis.
Use cases
Who rents rather than buys
New wholesale operators
Start selling minutes without a capital purchase or a switch engineer on payroll.
Resellers with growing customer counts
Give downstream customers their own credentials, rates and balances.
Operators testing a new market
Stand up a switch for a market you are not yet sure about, and hand it back if you decide against it.
Businesses migrating from legacy PBX billing
A proper rating and CDR pipeline in place of spreadsheets.
Teams without in-house switch skills
Operational responsibility for the platform stays with us.
Anyone who needs CDRs they can bill from
Exportable, reconcilable call records as a first-class output rather than a debugging log.
How it works
Provisioning a rented switch
-
Scope the instance
Channel count, expected concurrency, destinations and how many downstream customers you will host.
-
We provision and harden it
Instance, firewall, VOS3000 install, SIP hardening and monitoring, typically within a few business days.
-
Routing and rates loaded
Your upstream trunks, routing tables and rate plans configured with you rather than handed over blank.
-
Handover and ongoing support
Admin credentials, a walkthrough, and our NOC watching the platform from then on.

How to connect VOS3000 rental
Every method reaches the same routes, the same balance and the same reporting. Pick the one that suits how your platform is built.

Why SisBird
What our rental includes that a bare VPS does not
A bare VPS is not a switch
The gap between an installed VOS3000 and a switch that is safe to put customers on is security, monitoring and routing design. That gap is what the rental covers.
Your termination can come from us too
Rent the switch and buy the minutes on one relationship, or rent the switch and route to whoever you like, both are fine.
No licence resale games
You know what you are renting and what happens to your configuration and CDRs if you leave.
Next step
Get a switch running this week instead of next quarter
Tell us the channel count and the destinations you plan to route. We will scope the instance, provision it and hand you working credentials.
-
1
You send the brief Destinations, monthly volume and the traffic type. Two lines is enough.
-
2
A routing engineer replies A costed plan with the route type stated per destination, usually within one business day.
-
3
You test on funded credit Same interconnects production runs on. No minimum term and no setup fee.
Or reach the routing team directly

FAQ
Softswitch rental questions
What is VOS3000?
VOS3000 is a widely used VoIP softswitch platform providing call routing, rating, billing and customer management for operators and resellers. It handles the commercial side of running a voice business, not just the media path.
Why rent instead of buying?
Buying means a licence, a server, and someone who can size, secure, patch and monitor it. Renting turns that into a monthly cost with the operational responsibility on us, which for a small or new operator is usually the difference between launching this quarter and next year.
Do I have to buy my termination from you?
No. You can point the switch at any upstream you like. Many customers use ours because it is one relationship and one invoice, but the switch is yours to route as you wish.
How long does provisioning take?
Typically a few business days from scoping to handover, depending on channel count and how much routing configuration you want us to build with you.
What happens about toll fraud?
Fraud alerting on unusual destination and concurrency patterns is part of the build, and the NOC watches it. No monitoring stops every attack, so we also configure spend and concurrency caps to bound the damage.
Can I get my data out if I leave?
Yes. Configuration and CDRs are yours and are exported on request. We would rather you left cleanly than felt trapped.
